This site is a tribute to Amanda Jorgensen, who was born on May 13, 1968. She is much loved and will always be remembered.

My lovely Mum died at the Willen hospice on the 6th March 2018, following a brave battle with an aggressively malignant brain tumour. The whole team at Willen cared for her with such delicacy and kindness until the very end, and we will be forever grateful to them for having allowed us to spend such precious time with her during the last days and weeks of her life.

As a teacher of Art and a true creative, my Mum inspired and supported not only my brother and I, but so many young people during her 49 years of life. She was a graceful woman and a beacon of positivity despite all that she suffered, remaining dignified and maintaining her endearing sense of humour even in those last weeks of her life.

Despite the difficulty and distress, we shared pockets of such happiness at Willen, supported medically and spiritually by their wonderful team. My Mum commented frequently on how lovely the nurses were, and how they made her feel safe, which was such a comfort to us. This is a truly special place and a charity which deserves to be fully supported, providing dignity and comfort for so many people in those last days of their life.
